R. H. THOMSON

Mr. Thomson is the man who came up with the idea of a Sunset to Sunrise Vigil for the men who fought at Vimy Ridge in France 90 years ago. He teamed up with Mr. Martin Conboy, a specialist in lighting design and with Veterans Affairs Canada. Beginning at 7:53PM on April 8 and going till 6:15AM on April 9, the names of the 3,598 Canadians, who gave their lives during the Battle of Vimy Ridge, along with many pictures were illuminated on the National War Memorial in Ottawa. Thank you Mr. Thomson, Mr. Conboy and Veterans Affairs. A truly moving tribute and I was proud to record some of the images for my story on Ottawa this year.
