FIRE ON SOMERSET
On March 7, the popular Caribbean Flavours restaurant at 881 Somerset burnt down along with two apartments above on the second floor. After firefighters put the fire out the building was deemed too unsafe to leave so the city moved in to demolish what was left and carted away the debris. Damage was estimated at $500,000 and the owner Frederick White hopes to relocate and get open in the near future.
