LOOKING BACK - SENS WIN GAME 3

Fans lined up by the thousands before the third game of the Stanley Cup Finals to cheer on their hometown Senators. In front of Scotiabank place there was plenty to see and do including new large screen 9' X 12' TV's to watch the game outside.

Peter Puck who has not been seen in a long time was in town to help with all the excitement.

Sens owner Eugene Melnyk was on hand to rally the fans and thank them for the support they have shown this remarkable year.
Best Sens fan turned out great the 5 finalists as they all got seats to the next game.

Oh what a day and night it was. Our first win in 80 years in a Stanley Cup finals' game. Tens of thousands came out to Elgin St. to celebrate the win for the modern day Senators. FIVE DAYS IN MAY

Looking back to May it was all Sens fever around Ottawa. We beat Buffalo in 5 to win the Eastern Conference Championship and then off to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 80 years.

Mr. Melnyk addresses the breakfast crowd and tells this great little story about Ceasar Salads and how it has related to some of his business successes.

Mr. Watson in his capacity as Ontario Minister of Health Promotion, and Mr. Melnyk sign an agreement that will see the Ontario Government contribute a significant amount of money to help pay for the costs involved in bringing the 2009 World Junior Championship Games to Ottawa.
It's a deal.

On May 4 the Chamber Of Commerce held one of it's regular Eggs & Icons Breakfast get togethers. The guest speaker was Eugene Melnyk of the Ottawa Senators and with the great run the Senators are having, he spoke to a sold out event held at Scotiabank Place. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time...........Philip Townsend who was in Ottawa on May 6 for a showing at the Dale Smith Gallery is just such a person. He is from England and as a photographer was asked to take the first ever photo sessions of a new band in 1963 who were just starting out. WATERCAN 20TH ANNIVERSARY - ANNUAL EMBASSY DINNER

The beautiful Aberdeen Pavillion provided quite the setting for the Annual WaterCan Embassy Dinner.

WaterCan celebrated their 20th Anniversary of it's Charitable Organization at the 13th Annual Embassy Dinner/Fundraiser at the Aberdeen Pavilion on May 4. Over 700 guests enjoyed the food and drinks from 45 different Nations thanks to the Embassies and High Commissions (with no travelling required). The night raised an amazing $ 145,000 between ticket sales and the silent auction.
