50th ANNIVERSARY OF "THE LITTLE ROCK NINE"

At the old Nepean City Hall, Minnijean Brown Trickey along with dignitaries, members of the Ottawa Police Force, students and friends gathered to see Minniejean Brown Trickey recieve a proclamation from Mayor Larry O'Brien declaring November 5, 2007 as Minnijean Brown Trickey day in Ottawa. This is the 50th Anniversary of the "Little Rock Nine" event in Little Rock, Arkansas where nine students were escorted into Central High School and end the colour barrier.
